2.1M (82.7") RQ-7 Shadow Balsa Wood Kit/ Kit+Power Combo (UAS FPV Platform) The RQ-7 Shadow is a battlefield unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) used by the armed forces of Australia, Italy, Sweden, the United States and others to provide a reconnaissance, surveillance and as a target acquisition platform. The RQ-7 is a high-wing, constant chord pusher configuration with a twin-tailboom empennage and an inverted v-tail. The aircraft has fixed tricycle landing gear. Takeoffs are assisted by a trailer-mounted pneumatic launcher which can accelerate the 375 pound aircraft to 70 knots and is recovered with the aid of arresting gear similar to jets on an aircraft carrier. Over 500 RQ-7 Shadows are in operational use throughout the world carrying electro-optic/infrared imaging sensors and having a range of over 100km and a 4-hour on-target loiter time. Our RQ-7 Shadow can't offer a 4 hour duration or a 100km range, but it is certainly a fantastic FPV platform with all of the highly practical features of the full size RQ-7, including the aerodynamically proven inverted V-tail, twin boom layout, center-mounted pusher motor, fixed tricycle undercarriage and the huge central nacelle giving a clear view for your cameras and sensors. For the scale enthusiasts among us the kit builds into quite an accurate representation of the full-size Shadow and, at 2100mm wingspan the large scale enthusiasts won't be disappointed either as this one is nearly 1/2 scale! The kit features a full set of components and 1:1 plans for wing assembly, laser cut parts from the highest quality balsa and ply to make construction fast, accurate and enjoyable to build! ALL nozzles are in the removable cap which has TWO rubber gaskets and is ONE SOLID PIECE, which includes the vent tube and filling tube. Fewer parts = Fewer problems.
